The five best Marketing-related nuggets across my desk this week
Welcome to the latest edition of my weekly Round Up!
Greetings after a very cold week in Chicago and Toronto! Here are the five best Marketing-related nuggets that came across my desk this week:
ONE (if you want to see how TikTok shop is starting to flex, read this one)
Per the fine folks at Marketing Week:
“Lidl has joined TikTok Shop to sell a limited drop of 3,000 “high protein” bundles, including protein powder, pancakes and flapjacks. It claims to be the first supermarket to sell on the platform in the UK. Calling it a “pop-up venture”, Lidl is selling the items, which it says have a recommended retail price of £30, for just £5, with all proceeds to be donated to children’s charity NSPCC.”
TWO (if you want to see Employer Branding at its finest, watch this one)
Anduril has nailed a playful take to attract the best talent, with their “Don’t Work at Anduril” campaign. I expect to see lots more of Marketing being geared towards this end goal as the best people become more productive thanks to AI. Watch the full video here.
THREE (if you’re following the Starbucks journey as much as I am, read this one)
It’s a brand that fascinates me: truly global and part of culture, but so little cult love? Feels like they’re trying to get into more of the zone that McDonald’s is in… Anyway, this is a good primer on the CEO’s updated strategy.
FOUR (if you want a thought-provoking read on creativity, try this one)
In
’s latest piece, she unpacks the importance of calling a time-out:“Our creative lives, like everything in nature, need their seasons of dormancy. Every fallow period prepares the ground for future abundance. Our ancestors knew this truth that we're now rediscovering: the spiral always turns, and spring always returns.”
FIVE (if you’re ready for a world-class sports documentary, try this one)
Netflix. USA Basketball. The Paris Olympics… It’s going to be top tier… Trailer below.
