The five best Marketing-related nuggets across my desk this week
Welcome to the latest edition of The Raffi Report!
Greetings from London, England! Subscribe to The Raffi Report and each week you’ll get 5 nuggets a week (for free!) that will keep you at the bleeding edge of the Marketing industry.
ONE (if you want the inside scoop of what it takes to grow from 0 to 1 then to 100, read this one)
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Bill a few times and what he’s done at Braze is nothing short of exemplary. This breakdown in the First Round Review was equally strong and is worth a full read…
The one part that stuck out to me? The fact that your initial customers aren’t always your forever customers:
“It's a funny number to look at because today, we only have a little over 2,000 customers. Out of those 1,000 beta signups, I don't think we have any customers today that came out of that initial set,” says Magnuson.
TWO (if you want to see the practical impact of AI on a specific sector, read this one)
continues to set the standard for medium-length content and his piece of how AI is transforming wealth management (following his investment in Continuum) didn’t miss… I love his tracing of history…
(“Wealth management actually began in the Renaissance to serve a rising merchant class. This was right around the birth of capitalism and industrial expansion. At this point, wealth advisory wasn’t really an outright profession, per se; rather, the industry formed as a network of trusted personal relationships. Wealthy families would share tips on managing wealth.”)
… through to a modern-day vision where (almost) anyone can be priced into the Wealth Management market.
THREE (if you want to see how commerce affects cities, read this one)
It’s hard to summarise this one other than by saying it’s one of the best arguments for independent, varied stores in our major cities.
As someone who’s grown up seeing their hometown go from multi-faceted to cookie-cutter high streets… It resonates in a major way!

’s masterclass here.FOUR (if you want to see the impact of DoorDash, Deliveroo etc, read this one)
This stat surprised me:
“Overall, 37% of adults say they order delivery, and 47% order takeout at least once a week.”
For over third of Americans to be getting a delivery just shows how ingrained this new behaviour is…
It’s the dream end goal for a marketplace like DoorDash: drive such frequency that you fundamentally rewire the day-to-day operating system of your consumer.

FIVE (if you want a deep dive as to whether the company blog is dead, read this one)
Emily Kramer’s piece left no stone unturned and is top of mind for many of our customers right now, who are all figuring out what content should look like in the era of SEO/GEO…
